a February show and a hello

Hi Reader~

Hope your New Year is off to a good start -- I've got a show I wanted to tell you about (2/22) and some other sundry things that I hope you'll enjoy....

Duo with Jeb Patton 2/22 6:30pm (2 sets)

After doing so much big band last year, I'm excited to start off this one with a duo performance, singing lots of new material (More Manet! Wine songs!) and reveling in the intimacy of this format.

This series at the Intercontinental Hotel is something special -- we'll be in a suite together with a beautiful piano, you'll be served two sets with hors d'oeuvres and wine/beverage all for $55. Very civilized.

the email for RSVPs (it's not ticketed) is: Sebastian.Zischg@ihg.com, and you'll find more info below...

Manet & The Women

This is the year for this project -- after a fun kickoff at the Met, I'm continuing to gather support for the album, and further developing the material for a conceptual concert experience meant for the stage.

If you haven't checked it out:

Bye 2023

I'm a little late for a year-in-review, so I'll just say so long to '23 with a pic from my personal and musical apotheosis of the year -- the "Holidays" concert at Gotham was the culmination of a year of concert development with this restaurant and the beautiful people who run it, and the celebration of year of extraordinary musical collaboration with Ted.

For me, the music truly comes alive once its performed for an audience, and boy did it ever for this amazing crowd! Here's to more like it in the months to come.

Thanks for sharing the journey with me, and sharing your ideas and thoughts (which I welcome!)

More from me soon.

Truly,

Kristen

Happy Friday! Hope you're looking forward to a great weekend. I've been working on the tunes for August 5th, tending to a sunburn and working on some new songs...but onto what I've been sipping on and listening to! Juice There is no discovery, really, in matters of wine. If something’s made by humans it’s already been some combination of discovered and created. However that doesn’t stop me from feeling a sense of satisfaction, victory even, when I encounter something new and seemingly away...

Happy Friday! Hope you're looking forward to a great weekend. Oh, I'm too excited about singing with Ted Nash's Big Band at Dizzy's Club on August 5th not to remind you about it! Onto your weekly pairing... Juice Greatness in just about anything over time requires a paradoxical balance: that of persistence and consistency matched with innovation and reinvigoration. Too much of the former, things get a little stale; too much of the latter and things become unfocused and diffuse. Rioja is one...

Happy Friday! Before I get to this week's pairing, I wanted to let you know I'll be singing a few songs each set with Ted Nash's Big Band at Dizzy's Club on August 5th -- the band couldn't be better, and the theme is "Jazz Meets Pop." It's going to be a great time -- hope to see you there. Onto your weekly pairing! Juice Gemischter Satz is the name Vienna has given its signature melange of white grapes — maybe more important that than what grapes it contains (riesling, grüner, etc.) is the...
